COL. EDGAR M. CARDINOZA PAF (GSC), Commanding Officer of the AFP Health Service Command, despite the hectic schedule, warmly welcomed the PNOC EC team headed by President and CEO, LTGEN ROZZANO D. BRIGUEZ AFP (Ret).

According to PNOC EC President and CEO, LTGEN ROZZANO D. BRIGUEZ AFP (Ret), by way of such donations, the Company shares with those in the front lines the devotion to help fellow Filipinos get through with the coronavirus pandemic that has affected many. He asked the AFP health service providers “to continue serving the country not because they don’t have a choice rather, it is the right thing to do.” The Company had previously remitted over Php 2.0 Billion to the National Treasury to support the government in its efforts to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19, and donated PPEs and other supplies to the Philippine Army, as well as to the Rural Health Units in Zamboanga Sibugay province hosting the Company’s coal development projects.

The PPEs donated by the PNOC EC include face masks and shields, coveralls, body suits, medical gowns and gloves. According to COL. EDGAR M. CARDINOZA PAF (GSC), the AFP health workers currently use up 23 PPEs a day and the need might even double since the government is opening up additional quarantine centers.

COL. EDGAR M. CARDINOZA PAF (GSC), Commanding Officer of the AFP Health Service Command said that “the health professionals are both the front liners and the last line of defense in the war against COVID-19; that is why the Armed Forces of the Philippines really prioritizes the safety of their health care providers. If the health system collapses, we all lose the battle against the coronavirus.” Col. Cardinoza further said that the donation of the much needed PPEs by PNOC EC comes timely and fitting since more and more government facilities are being converted into quarantine areas for COVID-19. The AFP Health Service Command handles the patients being treated at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, the World Trade Center and PICC.
