PNOC EC Commemorates 1994 Mine Tragedy
PNOC EC commemorated the 24th anniversary of the mine explosion that claimed over 70 lives. Mr. Jay Adrias, Community Relations Assistant (extreme left, in grey shirt) was at the blessing of the memorial site in the Shaft 3 Area along with some of the survivors and families of the victims.
PNOC EC COMMEMORATES 1994 MINE TRAGEDY
Zamboanga Sibugay Province (29 August 2018) – PNOC Exploration Corporation, the oil, gas, and coal exploration and development arm of the National Government commemorated the tragic mine accident that claimed the lives of several mine workers.
56 survivors and family members of those who perished gathered at the PNOC EC Base Camp for a Eucharistic Celebration. After the Eucharist, the gathering moved to the Shaft 3 Area of Barangay Ladicha for the blessing of the memorial cross and marker.
Testimonials were given during the simple program that followed the blessing.
PNOC EC also continues to provide various livelihood training opportunities in line with its corporate social responsibility program in its Zamboanga Sibugay business area.
