4 December 2020, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City – PNOC Exploration Corporation, the oil, gas, and coal exploration and development arm of the National Government, donated relief goods for the victims of a series of powerful typhoons that rocked Regions 1 and 2 and other parts of the country over the previous couple of weeks.

PNOC EC donated much-needed assistance to four Local Governments in Isabela Province. The Company donated grocery items and vitamin C amounting to P125,000 to Santiago City, the Municipalities of Echague, Ramon, and San Isidro.

Many areas of Regions 1 and 2 experienced massive flooding, especially in the wake of Typhoon Ulysses, the last of the trio of powerful typhoons that walloped many parts of Luzon over the last couple of weeks of November.

In total, PNOC EC donated 400 litres of bottled distilled water, 3,200 packs of instant coffee, 400 packs of biscuits, 1,200 packs of instant noodles, 1,200 cans of sardines, 1,200 sachets of cereal drinks, and 4,000 tablets of Vitamin C, equally distributed among the four Local Governments.

PNOC EC, together with scholars from the Company’s Kaagapay sa Karunungan Program, and other volunteers, also repacked and delivered 400 bags of relief supplies to Cauayan City and Benito Soliven, as soon as flood waters had subsided in those areas.

Isabela Province is home to two of PNOC EC’s most vital projects: Service Contract 37 (SC 37), is a Natural Gas Project in Santiago City, declared an official discovery by the Department of Energy. Coal Operating Contract 122 (COC 122) is a Coal Mine-Mouth Power Plant Project, with areas in Cauayan City, as well as the Municipalities of Naguilian and Benito Soliven.

Lt Gen Briguez for his part declared that PNOC EC will continue to be involved in all of the National Government’s relief and rehabilitation efforts in any way it can.
