PNOC EC GFPS Completes GAD Capacity Building Workshop

PNOC EC’s GFPS and select project implementers completed a three-day GAD Capacity Building Workshop in November 2023

The GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) of the Company, as well as select project implementers, underwent a comprehensive three-day Capacity Building Workshop at the company’s headquarters in Taguig City, BGC, on 7-9 November 2023.

The Human Resources Section, in collaboration with the Training and Education Committee of the GFPS TWG, organized the training as part of the Company’s continuing efforts to update its GAD Agenda, and more importantly, to achieve full Gender Mainstreaming throughout the organization.

Raymond Mazo and Kimberly Anne Teodoro, certified GAD trainers who are part of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) resource pool, took the thirty-person group through a comprehensive training program that included overview and review of the principles and applications of GAD, such as Gender Sensitivity, Gender Analysis which includes Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines, and GAD Planning and Budgeting, among others. In addition to the Company’s employees, PNOC EC also took in two representatives from its mother Company, PNOC, to participate in the workshop.

More advanced technical GAD training programs are already lined up for the GFPS next year.

The GFPS Technical Working Group (TWG) of PNOC EC is currently chaired by the Planning and Budget Manager Alexis Mann De La Torre, and jointly vice-chaired by the Human Resources and Administration Manager Maria Rita Dayleg, and External Relations Manager Sharon Ner. The Company received a positive Audit Observation Memorandum from the Commission on Audit (COA) for going above the 5% minimum budget requirement for its gender programs, activities and projects in its 2022 GAD Plan and Budget.
