PNOC EC Recognized Again as One of the Top 10 GOCCs in CGS

Once again, PNOC Exploration Corporation (PNOC EC) is among the Top 10 GOCCs with the highest rating on Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS). This is based on the assessment conducted in 2018 by the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) with the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).

In 2015, the GCG issued GCG MC 2015-07 to establish the Corporate Governance Scorecard in the GOCC Sector with the objectives of raising the corporate governance standards and practices and recognize well-governed GOCCs.

The GCG conducted an exit conference with all GOCCs under RA 10149 on March 7, 2019 to present the results of its 2018 assessment. With the leadership of PNOC EC’s President and CEO, Atty. Pedro A. Aquino Jr., and General Counsel and Compliance Officer, Atty. Datu Omar S. Sinsuat, and the efforts of its various units, the Company achieved a rating of 84 to make it in the top 10 list.

In the future, PNOC EC aims to continually improve its rating and ranking by consistently implementing good corporate governance standards and practices, as it moves towards becoming the country’s leading energy exploration company.
