PNOC EC Wins 1st Place in PH-EITI Excellence in Reporting Awards
1 December 2025, Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay - PNOC Exploration Corporation, the oil, gas, and coal exploration and development arm of the National Government, won First Place in the Excellence in Reporting Awards for the Oil and Gas Sector.
PNOC EC bested Prime Energy (3rd Place) and NEP (2nd Place). The awards were conferred by the Philippine Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (PH-EITI) under the Department of Finance during the culmination day of the EITI National Conference held from 24 to 28 November 2025.
According to DOF, PH-EITI is a government-led, multi-stakeholder initiative that promotes transparency and accountability in the country's primary extractive industries, namely mining, and oil and gas. It implements the global EITI Standard by systematically disclosing information about the sector's revenues, contracts, and production to improve public understanding and governance.
In his keynote address, DOF Undersecretary Bayani H. Agabin, Chair and Focal Person of PH-EITI, urged all stakeholders to work together even more to ensure that EITI principles and standards are upheld sector-wide, so that all stakeholders, particularly the most at-risk and vulnerable, have voices that are heard loud and clear, especially in policy-making and regulatory compliance.
